The Ultimate "Diet" Chivda Mix

The classic tea-time snack — just marry the flavours with a tempered spice oil. Since everything is already roasted, it comes together in minutes.

  1. 1Heat 1 tbsp oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, slit green chilies, and a pinch of hing until curry leaves are crisp.
  2. 2Lower the heat and add turmeric and red chili powder.
  3. 3Toss in equal parts of all four roasted ingredients immediately.
  4. 4Stir constantly for 3–5 minutes until evenly coated and aromatic.
  5. 5Cool completely and store in an airtight jar.
